Are the R7 5800X overheating?
Mixed factors likely at play. The old AIO 5800x model with its 5800x specs and physical build often causes cooling issues. Applying thermal paste poorly, mounting pressure being too high, and temperatures exceeding previous Ryzen limits are common. Under stress like a 90°C test, performance drops noticeably. Monitoring tools such as HWInfo can help track real temps and clockspeed to confirm the problem.
Also consider a thermal paste issue, since the actual CPU die is positioned in the corner of the 5800x board.
It seems I’m aiming for around 80°C max, with a bit of flexibility. That’s quite fascinating about the die’s placement. Perhaps I should retry and use more thermal paste.
