You're running a powerful setup with the i9-13900k and are curious about your temperatures under load. Your current temps seem manageable for most games, especially at idle around 40°C and during moderate CPU tasks. The spikes you experienced during intense gaming are likely due to thermal throttling, which can happen if the system struggles under high load. Overall, your frame rates appear stable, and you're seeing solid performance numbers. Keep an eye on cooling solutions as you push more demanding titles.

Checking the stock configurations? No, no undervolt detected. If it is, that's typical—13900K isn't designed to be cooled by an air cooler.

It's all about the default configurations. You're likely thinking about switching to a more powerful AIO when you have the opportunity.

It's running hotter than anticipated; I was expecting a cooler idle temperature. The 13900K is extremely demanding to dissipate, yet it shouldn't reach the 90s at just 150W. I'd consider swapping out the cooler first, making sure to inspect the thermal paste, and you might want additional fans for the 7000D since the system really needs more airflow.

Thanks for the update! It seems the 90s spikes really raised my concerns. I might remount the cooler once the exams are done to see if it helps. Also, the higher fan placement for RAM likely affects cooling performance.

Did you configure a fan curve for the cooler? Not really, many users skip this step, which results in fans operating at steady speed or not reaching full capacity, leading to reduced cooling performance.

I did not set a fan curve, but during AC:Odyssey I usually get about 1200-1400 RPM on the CPU fans, but I can't really say if this is the max or there is still some headroom.

Consider a contact frame similar to the one from thermalright

This won't work unless the cooling fans are actively pushing warm air out and drawing in fresh air.
