No, you don't have to keep xpinstall.signatures.required as false. Some extensions stop working when it's set that way. I believe Adblock Plus might fix the signature issues.

That was just a short hiccup... they missed updating a security certificate. They fixed it after a couple of days, so it should function again now if you restore its validity.
