Are phones not showing up in Bluetooth on a new device?
I operate with my wireless phones during the night while playing games and/or enjoying music. My device, as per the specifications, is only a week old, yet I’m encountering issues in "finding" the phones. Instead of my own, I see devices from my neighbor, who isn’t responding to my calls. The Bluetooth dongle remains plugged in and appears "ON" in the devices list, but not on the taskbar.
Is there any advice you could offer? I’m a bit older—73 years old compared to most—and still able to read written instructions if needed. I’ve also sent an email to ABS for help.
Thank you for your support.
Attempt to locate the Bluetooth icon on the taskbar first.
Please note the following:
Bluetooth typically covers around 30 feet, so nearby devices might be visible.
These devices may appear discoverable through actions like right-clicking the Bluetooth icon in the lower-right corner and selecting "Show Bluetooth Devices."
Check if your phone shows up in the list—this indicates multiple devices are present.
If you see your neighbor's devices, it doesn't pose a threat as pairing requires access to both devices.
Proceed with these steps:
1) Bring the Bluetooth icon to the taskbar
2) Pair your device with the system
Oh, gosh, I'm really sorry—I messed up and didn't mean what I said. I meant "headphones," specifically wireless ones, but I can't pair them with my Bluetooth. Please forgive me for not considering this before sharing—hope you didn't think I meant my phone, which I definitely didn’t. I’m really embarrassed.
Your instructions seem clear, and I’m still following them.
Thank you for your time, and I apologize again.
Tuinyo - TP19 - thanks! I can access BT on my taskbar with a dongle, but once I remove it, the BT icon disappears.
The headphone manual:

After placing the Bluetooth icon on the Taskbar and enabling Bluetooth, you can use Contents (Section 3) to connect your computer ("other devices") with the headphones.
Results may vary—possibly not immediate. The accuracy of the instructions is uncertain.
TBD.
After reviewing your recent actions, here’s what happened:
You adjusted settings, selected Bluetooth devices, and tried connecting your headphones. The light flashed once then stabilized to blue. You proceeded to add the device through the second option in settings, but the process kept looping without success.
Above the "Device" section, the "Bluetooth" option remains enabled. On the taskbar, the text "Allow a device to connect" is hidden and doesn’t respond when clicked.
I spoke with ABS support about this issue. They advised checking Device Management and ensuring "Bluetooth Radio" is turned on. They listed other options like Update, Disable, Uninstall, and Scan For HW Changes, but none of these resolved the problem.
It seems your headphones might already be paired, yet you’re not getting any audio output. You may need to verify the pairing status or consult further support.
I requested ABS to sign on to my machine remotely, but they haven’t responded yet. It’s still within the first 30 days’ warranty, and they mentioned I could return it if needed. I checked Newegg and found a fairly good return policy—just ensure they receive all packaging, and aside from the BT not connecting the headphones, the setup works well for gaming. Another option is Box Aid, which charges $40 for 30 minutes of remote repair, but again, unless there’s more to it, I’m hesitant to pay that fee.
I conducted additional research on this machine and discovered the following under Blueooth Audio Driver (s) uner (CODE31): "The device is not functioning correctly because Windows cannot load the necessary drivers. This issue is noted under Bluetooth Adapter RZ616. All other Bluetooth programs associated with this device report that they are working properly. Are there any further steps I should take before returning it?" Thank you.
Consider using a USB extension cable to relocate the BT dongle away from the computer's back.
