Are new games too easy?
Are new games too easy?
Today's games seem too supportive, making it hard to progress. I struggled with quests in Witcher 2, searching descriptions and talking to NPCs for hints. Later, in Skyrim, I skipped dialogue and just followed the marker, finishing faster than tracking my quest. I wondered if newer titles should be tougher, like old games, or if gamers today are too relaxed. The Witcher 2 isn’t that old, but it still feels familiar.
Accessible gaming options are now available for many titles. Skyrim has improved significantly in accessibility, and several other games were also released during that period.
NOPE Mgs 5, Mission 24, Metallic Erchaea Extreme – total no. Dark Souls 1+2 and Bloodborne are tough, Dying Light is challenging at night, and Mass Effect’s difficulty is really steep.
