Are games experiencing crashes following a CPU adjustment?
Just changed from a Ryzen 4600g to a 2200g. The PC with the 4600g works well, but the one with the 2200g frequently crashes during games, no matter what I try. It only has problems when gaming. I’ve already tested DDU twice and installed the driver recommended by Google for the 2200g on Windows 11-AMDU Adrenalin 24.9.1, but it hasn’t helped.
Before the CPU change, I used a MSI B450 Gaming Max with the 2200g, which also ran Windows 11 smoothly. I also updated the BIOS of the Biostar B550MH and verified with the Ryzen SMU checker that the 2200g is supported by its latest BIOS.
My current setup includes the Ryzen 2200g, Windows 11, Biostar B550MH, XPG Hunter 2x8GB DDR4, Silverstone Strider 500W, and a Samsung 250GB MLC SSD from an old laptop. Anything else I can do except reformat the PC?
By the way, the reason I swapped the CPU was because the B550MH board wouldn’t boot with the 2200g initially, so I had to update the BIOS. Too lazy to change it back after that update, and I’ve been using both PCs for about 8-9 months without any issues.
games continued to crash, but i noticed the vga drivers listed together with the chipset ones. I uninstalled AMD adrenalin and reinstalled the older vga drivers. so far, i've managed to play one round of CS:GO and complete a game of Dota 2. i plan to test it further later.
