I chose a budget motherboard and case to cut costs on pricier parts. My setup includes the i5-8400, Gigabyte H301M motherboard, Zotac GTX 1080 Mini, GeIL RGB memory, EVGA power supply, and Rosewill case. The selected motherboard should not interfere with these components. No concerns about compatibility.

I chose a budget motherboard and case to cut costs, keeping my expensive parts separate. Here are my specs:
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/DmGqbX
i5-8400
Gigabyte H301M A Motherboard
Zotac GTX 1080 Mini
GeIL - SUPER LUCE RGB SYNC 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory
EVGA 500W 80+ Bronze PSU
Rosewill SCM-01 case
Would the chosen motherboard affect my other components? I’m not overclocking and don’t plan to use more than two cards in SLI. It seems fine to go cheap on the motherboard if the CPU is locked. The main trade-off would be fewer PCI x16 slots.

It should be fine. As you mentioned, you can't overclock, which makes the H series boards a good fit. However, they don't have all the features found on gaming boards.

Would the module I selected affect my other parts? I'm considering the i5-8400, which is fixed in terms of performance, and I don't intend to overclock. Any suggestions?

Purchase the enter g31 motherboard with DDR 2 RAM 2GB or 160GB HDD, paired with an enter 450W SMPS and an old case that will damage your PC.

You should purchase an enter g31 motherboard with DDR2 RAM, 2GB or 160GB HDD, and a 450W SMPS compatible with your old case. The user mentioned an I5-8400 CPU, which needs DDR4 RAM and a 300 series board. Choices for the motherboard are limited because DDR2 is not suitable here.
