Mobo: Asus P8Z77-V LE Plus with Montech XR case
Case: Montech XR
I was enjoying assembling this build, but soon realized the motherboard front panel headers were all over the place and don’t match the F_PANEL connector. What should I do now? Do I need to replace the case? The board is preowned, so I only have the motherboard and the chipset.
I searched online and didn’t find any reports of this problem—most results suggested just swapping the orientation and plugging it in. But I’m not experiencing this issue. The MOBO seems different, and there’s no clear fit with the connector.
Also, can I wait until I fix it instead of plugging anything in? Would it be okay to bypass the front panel pins and jump the power switch connections?

Yes, you can! You could also depin and repin the front panel harness to match your motherboard's pin layout, but I’d suggest avoiding that right now.
The problem is you’re dealing with a very old motherboard while modern standards have changed, which is why the case’s front panel connection (besides audio) doesn’t fit properly.

You have options to re-pin the all-in-one plug, remove the pins from the connector and attach them to the motherboard's correct positions, or purchase a breakout adapter usually priced under $15 that provides individual pins.
