You're dealing with a tough situation with your TUF505du laptop. The high temperatures you're experiencing, even during light gaming, suggest the cooling system might need attention. Since you're not familiar with hardware changes, it's wise to proceed cautiously. Replacing thermal pads with thermal paste could help, but only if you confirm the pads are indeed the issue. Check the areas mentioned in the tutorial image—those spots where components sit on the heat sink often have pads. If you're unsure, it's safer to consult a professional or do further research before making changes.

Thermal pads need to be swapped for mads that match precisely in thickness—down to just 0.1mm—to avoid bigger problems.

They seem quite different from typical thermal pads. These are flat sheets, not loose masses.

It only appears as thermal paste everywhere, in the worst scenario you could repurpose thermal pads if available.

I haven't started using it yet because the thermal paste and pads are still pending delivery.

I don't have specific guidelines for TUF505 series, but generally, a thickness between 0.8 to 1.2 mm is commonly recommended for this material. Consult the manufacturer's specifications for precise details.
