It’s not advisable to use Arctic MX-4 on a laptop GPU’s VRAM, voltage regulators, or MOSFETs as a replacement for thermal pads. Since you’ve already applied thermal paste and removed the heatsink, adding more thermal padding would help prevent damage. Consider using proper thermal management instead.

For laptops, sticking with the original cooling method seems preferable until we have more details on the required fit. If you can match the same dimensions for the thermal pads, I’d recommend using them. However, my ROG laptop doesn’t use thermal pads at all—it relies on thermal paste for components like VRAM and others.
