You can remove the old socket and install a new one yourself. Hand soldering is feasible if you have the right tools and experience.

Yes, it can definitely be challenging depending on the damage. A simpler approach might involve connecting a PCIe to an NVMe adapter.

There’s a mismatch between your 3900X and the advertised speeds. The adapter you’re looking at claims 3.0 speeds, not 4.0. It seems the manufacturer might have misled you about the maximum performance. You should still be able to achieve 4.0 speeds with the right setup, but it depends on compatibility and configuration.
