You might want to reconsider using Mod Podge acrylic sealer instead of conformal coating. The manufacturer confirmed it isn't an approved application, likely because they don't specifically list liquid metal exposure as a suitable use case.

For a budget-friendly approach, consider using cellulose-based transparent nail polish to cover SMD resistors. If you need something more reliable, Super 33+ tape is a practical and affordable option with additional applications. Conformal coating is another good choice to shield against moisture damage, especially in humid environments like near the beach. A foam dam cutout can also serve as a protective barrier against liquid spills, though it’s meant as an extra layer rather than a replacement for the above methods. For extra safety with liquid metal or BGA components, a dedicated dam is recommended.

Mod Podge acrylic sealer is a familiar product, closely matching acrylic conformal coating. However, the label doesn’t mention conformal coating, and I’m unsure if it’s heat-sensitive or reliable otherwise. Since I can’t find local conformal coating, I’m weighing the acrylic sealer as a safer alternative. I prefer quality over cost and feel it’s worth investing in the best option available.

Mod Podge acrylic sealer is a familiar product, similar to acrylic conformal coating, though the label doesn<|pad|> to say it doesn’t mention conformal coating. I’m unsure if it’s heat-sensitive or if there are other concerns. Since I can’t find conformal coating locally, I’m leaning toward this sealer for durability. It feels more reliable than nail polish, which seems less trustworthy to me.

Nail polish has gained popularity among overclockers and online resources for protecting the CPU and GPU SMD resistors. It's also frequently applied by users of notebook LM series. However, it should not be used for insulating the motherboard directly. Conformal coating is suitable for both surfaces.

I understand, simple nail polish should work well for this. Your feedback is appreciated. Check out the product I'm using here: https://www.michaels.com/mod-podge-clear...94372.html

I'm just checking for any loose parts or potential issues that might cause metal to touch the board.

Check the Mod Podge brand acrylic sealer one day from now to ensure it's safe for use near CPU and GPU dies as a protective layer.
