I didn't actually install Windows 8; I upgraded several HDDs to Windows 10 whenever possible during its free period.
I own a three-year free trial of MSDN, so in theory I didn’t have to pay yet—but if it’s affordable before the trial ends, I’ll likely upgrade and cover the cost later.
That’s a bad situation. You should avoid installing Windows 8 illegally. Updating to Windows 10 is a better option. Formatting and reinstalling Windows 10 will help you get a clean setup.
Focusing on general piracy topics is fine, but sharing or talking about pirated, hacked, or illegally obtained material isn't permitted. This covers Windows files, games, hackintosh, etc. Also, advice on preventing or blocking properly installed monitoring software is off-limits.
