Lol, why would they do that when they know if you want to have their industry leading performance, you'll just have to buy their device as whole. Which is super funny when people get upset about Apple's "walled garden" or "locked ecosystem". Apple can literally actually have such things thanks to tightly controlled ecosystem which also allows them to make such drastic architectural shifts in very short time periods And it's also why Microsoft can't because they depend on way too many factors (and HW components that are entirely out of their control). Apple doesn't have any of those problems when they are the makers of the hardware and the software.

This comparison is definitely challenging. These kinds of chips don't really fit into the same category for a straightforward look. In truth, it can be quite difficult to put Intel and AMD side by side. Both have strengths that make them excellent processors. For instance, AMD has been strong in breaking down WinRAR for users. But this level of performance doesn't always match what gamers expect when playing COD. Could Apple introduce SoC options for PC builders? Absolutely! Would it truly be faster or superior to SOI? It really comes down to what you're aiming for. The choice between SOC and SOI hinges on your specific needs.

SoC stands for "System on Chip," meaning all components are integrated onto one chip. SOI refers to a manufacturing technique applied within silicon-based chips and is unrelated to external placement or installation.

X86 remains firmly established in computers, making it hard for anything else to replace it. Even modern gaming systems rely on SoCs built from the same architecture.

Microsoft offers an ARM variant of Windows, but its popularity remains limited since it can't run all x86 applications. Emulation is likely to be less smooth for certain programs. The company has been attempting to enter the ARM market for years, yet progress hasn't been significant. Either they must rely on emulation or developers need to adapt their work for native ARM support, which seems unlikely.
