Recently I began using my MacBook Pro for an upgrade, but before diving in, I noticed it was running very slowly. After installing Intel Power Gadget, it kept hitting a maximum clock speed of 1.2GHz, even struggling to play normal 1080p60 videos on YouTube. I’m wondering if this is due to the battery dying and the software restricting power use, or if there’s another problem. My main concern is the battery not holding charge after unplugging it from the charger.
