After reviewing similar pieces... the AirPort Extreme article sparked my interest. I bought one years ago when we moved into a new home and the ISP router would frequently crash with multiple devices connected. Since our Apple-based devices are common, it made sense to choose an Apple Router. But now that Apple has stopped producing them, many people are criticizing these products. Personally, I’ve loved their performance! We live in a 3-story home and the coverage, speeds, and reliability are outstanding. I’ll keep mine until it fails. Any current users in the LinuxTech community have thoughts on these AirPort routers?

The Airport Extreme was recognized for delivering the quickest single-client transfer speeds on AC routers, even when used with non-Apple devices. Its performance matched or surpassed that of routers launched a few years prior, which is notable given its early introduction in the 802.11ac era. However, in other areas, Apple’s networking approach often deviates from standards, creating compatibility problems with compatible hardware and confusing professionals in the field. This issue tends to impact their computers and phones more than their routers, though the latter weren’t completely immune to it.
