When handling photos or using the Windows photo viewer, my computer runs extremely sluggish. It's a fairly standard machine with Windows 7, and this is the first time I've experienced such an issue. Even SSD images are very slow. I've run multiple virus scans and everything came back clean. What should I do next?

Set up Picasa 3.9 and its photo viewer. It performs much better than Windows' version. I switched because Windows Photo Viewer takes up too much space on my system. However, I've found the Picasa viewer to be excellent. Get it here → http://download.cnet.com/Picasa/3000-219...60334.html

A solid, minimalist tool for fast image reading: IrfanView (link: http://www.irfanview.com). Install plugins to explore additional media formats. Navigate folders simply with arrow buttons or keyboard shortcuts like PgUp and PgDwn.

However, thumbnail versions tend to be small. It's often better to see a picture that's bigger than the thumbnail.

I rely on Windows Essentials - Photo Gallery for managing my gallery. The application utilizes the GPU to process images, which means you should have either a GPU or a compatible driver if you encounter issues. It also handles color profiles depending on your monitor settings. With the Camera Codec Pack, you can access RAW files from numerous DSLR cameras: http://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/download/...x?id=26829
