You and your friend were attempting to play Apex Legends via Steam, but your friend was marked offline. You tried inviting him, but the process didn’t work. After closing Apex and reopening it with the invite, you ended up on the home screen without being part of the party. Someone might have reset his account or there could be a Steam issue. Did your friend become offline or hidden in Steam? ~edit: "Do Not Disturb" on their friends list also blocks joining games.

You’d adjust your settings in Steam to hide your presence and disconnect from the network. For DnD, you can change your character’s visibility or disable online features depending on the rules you follow. Let me know if you need specific steps!

Navigate to Friends via the menu (above Store, Library, …). Here you can switch between Online, Away, Invisible and Offline modes. Tap Friends > View Friends List. The friends list offers the same choices plus a checkbox for DND when you select your name.
