1) Retrieve the bios and compress it
2) Change the name to GIGABYTE.bin
3) Place it on a fat32 formatted flash drive
4) Put it into the board and press the button
5) Observe until the flashing stops
6) Power on
I had previously reviewed that information, but thank you! It looks like the issue is resolved now (currently restoring the bios). The change I made was switching to a different USB drive—specifically, a 32GB Kingston USB3 model. Hope this actually functions!
It's likely the file system uses exFAT, which differs from FAT16 or FAT32.
It was Fat32, I followed the guide and adjusted the formatting. Now I'm adding parts back to see if it functions properly.
I was wondering if it was being done simply because it was easy. Usually there are only three main reasons to change your BIOS. Security issues tend to cause more problems than improvements. Regarding AGESA, I believe it's unrealistic to assume any single developer can't make a mistake and release an update that causes more damage than benefit.
I saved the updated bios from another server and applied @bios this time, but the board still got damaged again. Really, how can Gigabyte be so careless with their bios updates... At least I’m sure I can resolve it and hold off for a better version now.
