These headers appear to be addressable RGB lights, matching their appearance.
It's too expensive for such a low price, especially since better VRMs are available elsewhere. If your current case provides some airflow, it should work well for a 3600. However, anything higher risks overheating the VRM and limiting CPU performance, making overclocking with the 3600 risky. For future upgrades to 3700 or 5700, you might need a new motherboard to ensure optimal CPU boosting.
I've picked a case with solid airflow. It could be either the Lian Li Lancool ii mesh or the Phanteks P400A digital. Should we consider using a steel legend? Also, I won't be upgrading the CPU for another three years.
You can review the motherboard tier list yourself. However, the Steel Legend still stands out slightly better. Just a note, the physical appearance of the board doesn't reflect its performance. This is why the B450 Pro4, though not as visually appealing as the Steel Legend, offers comparable voltage ratings and will deliver similar results.
I appreciate the design of the steel legend. It would be great to see both DRGB headers on the Aorus instead of just one on the Asrock. I plan to compare the RGB options on both boards before deciding. I’m not sure I’ll go overclock anyway.
If the B550 models fit your budget, I’d consider these alternatives. Many board partners have improved VRM and cooling on the B550 boards compared to the B450 versions. Additionally, compatibility with the upcoming Ryzen 5000 series on X470 and B450 isn’t fully assured.
I checked the options for a b550 board, but the only one that fits my budget is the gigabyte b550 DS3H. The board works fine, though it's micro-ATX and I need an ATX version with RGB lighting. Getting that would cost significantly more. I already have a CPU and PSU, so when Black Friday arrives I’ll check deals on motherboards and decide from there. I’m aiming to stay under £90, and I won’t upgrade until at least 1-3 years if I do. If I do, I’ll consider upgrading the CPU and motherboard together.
