I own an Aorus B450 m motherboard with Bois F2. My Ryzen 5 2600 is running fine. I previously had a Zotac GTX 1060 with an 6GB GPU that failed two weeks ago. I don’t have any other graphics card, so I’m considering purchasing a Radeon RX 6800 XT. It might be a bit more powerful than I need, but I’m open to it. If my GPU is severely limited by the CPU, I’ll upgrade the CPU instead. I haven’t updated my BIOS yet—I’m unsure how to do it. On the motherboard’s website I can find various BIOS versions. My questions are: Should I upgrade all previous BIOS versions from F2 to F60C? How do I perform a BIOS update? Is there any performance boost with the Ryzen 2600? Does the F60C BIOS support my Ryzen 5 2600? Please help me.
there are numerous useful YouTube tutorials on the subject. Refer to guides for Gigabyte B450 BIOS updates. You just need a USB drive and the BIOS files. https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B45...rt-dl-bios the BIOS versions are indicated, for instance F41 and later require F40 minimum, meaning you should begin with an update to F40. F41 and beyond indicate updates that support Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000) CPUs, so for the latest generation you’ll need at least that. I also suggest F50. There don’t seem to be any notes about reduced CPU compatibility.
