Anyone can check if their color settings are working right now?
Is this thing working? I heard they said it's from the new feature pack called "23H2." It sounds like Windows 11 can now make colors look right on my computer without me doing anything special.
I'm not seeing it...and a little digging shows this: To fix ACM, you can use a global registry key that turns ACM support on for all SDR monitors all the time. Go to the registry and find the GraphicsDrivers regkey (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers). Right click "Add" -> DWORD Name: EnableAcmSupportDeveloperPreview value: 1 If your monitor is already plugged in, you will need to disconnect it and reconnect it. For an internal panel, restart the laptop. Go to Settings > Display > Advanced Display , select the correct display and turn on Automatically manage color for apps Note: The registry key is just for app developers to use only.
It just shows up in settings as certified when it really works with the camera. But basically, you need a monitor that is an SDR screen and has a wider color range than standard sRGB.
I already do not have high dynamic range, so why would I bother checking? I might get one someday. My screen will never change for sure, at least until Windows features start appearing.
My Surface 3 Go just doesn't show up there. It says in the display info that it supports a standard color space with dynamic range, but it's not actually showing up on my screen.
You probably need a screen with DCI-P3 (which is also called P3) or Rec. 2020 and Rec. 2100 to show off those colors well - these are better than the old sRGB ones. What does it mean when you talk about color gamuts? A display's ability to make up all kinds of colors depends on how good its color range is. I need something similar so I can use it, but there is a risk of burn in. I cannot afford a new PC or GPU just to get that screen working when I have to wait for a feature that might not exist yet. It probably isn't worth the effort to buy all those things and find out they don't even work.
