Anydesk questions about being hacked
Woke up because the computer screen turned on late last night. I saw someone scrolling around trying to open Coinbase and buy stuff in Chrome (on a Windows 11 desktop). Luckily, I cut off the internet cable within a few minutes after they started using it. Is there any way to find out how this program got installed? Maybe where the files are stored and what program started setting things up? Are there log files that can be checked? I want to know exactly how I ended up with this tool and its source. Is there a way to block this program in my Windows 11 firewall so it doesn't get into other devices on my home network again? Windows Defender hasn't flagged anything as suspicious yet. What's the best way to make sure this computer and others at my house stay safe from viruses? I changed several of my passwords but haven't received any strange emails from my Google or Comcast accounts. Any help is really appreciated! Bryan
Did you notice someone messing with your screen and moving things around? Stop right now. Unplug the hard drive from the Wi-Fi or computer network completely. Then, erase everything and start fresh again. Did You install anydesk before this all started?
