I obtained a virus possibly from the game I downloaded, which has blocked internet access, disabled Windows Update, and affected restore points. A scan with Kaspersky Rescue Disk didn’t find anything. I have KadoerSky and Malwarebytes installed, but they aren’t detecting it while the system runs or the bootable USB antivirus failed. I’m considering a file system integrity check or downloading the Windows MS RTM. Any advice would be helpful—I don’t want to have to rebuild my system due to concerns about losing important data.

Well, this is your very first issue.
Your data should never rely on just one drive or system.
What would you do if that drive failed completely
right now?
Or if the illegal game download included ransomware?
(Yes, this does happen)
Address that problem, then consider how to handle the malware that came with the game you downloaded.
