Check the optimal angle for mounting the antennas on your PC. Since it's placed on the desk, ensure there’s enough room for clear signal reception. Your MSI MAG Z590 supports Wi-Fi 6E, so positioning them properly can enhance performance. Consider open space if possible for better connectivity.

Choose a male to male antenna connector cable for better control. You can bring the antenna nearer to the Wi-Fi access point, typically a router. Directional antennas are highly recommended. They give you precise directional awareness of your Wi-Fi signal, regardless of movement. This prevents wasted energy and improves range. Omni-directional antennas radiate signals in all directions, which can interfere with nearby networks and reduce performance. Opt for a 15 dBi or higher antenna and align it directly toward the router. This setup enhances connectivity, minimizes interference, and extends signal reach. Your current setup sends signals outward, potentially affecting your device and windows, whereas a directional antenna focuses transmission only where needed.

When the antennas are packed at the back of the computer, the device can interfere with the Wi-Fi connection. In certain situations, Wi-Fi cards include antennas connected to cables, allowing placement in strong signal zones. Based on my experience, I recommend positioning the router as high as possible to distribute the signal evenly. Remember that the signal typically forms a donut shape; therefore, directly above and below the router may experience poor coverage.
