Antec CSK DC
Antec CSK DC
Do you know anyone who has used the new Antec CSK DC 650W? According to SPL's updated PSU tier list, it's rated C and comparable to the MSI Mag A650bn; yet other CSK models have much worse ratings, so I'm being careful about a new budget power supply. I haven't seen any discussions about it online, so I think it probably doesn't overheat or anything, but it's cheaper than other C-rated options. I'm planning to install it in a new build and would really appreciate any advice or details!
Well, Tier E Antec CSK units are all group-regulated. But the "new" CSK is DC-DC regulated, while sharing a similar platform (though I doubt it's exactly the same because it uses different OEM). Still, if the underlying platform fails, simply changing the PSU's regulation doesn't guarantee a better one.
Full specs of the new build + total budget?
Since the PSU powers everything, it is the most crucial component inside the PC.
That's why you should never compromise on quality for cost. Also, avoid purchasing used PSUs.
Therefore, aim for at least Tier B from SPL's selection.
For example, CM MWE Gold 750 V3 is Tier B+,

The PSU isn't the best place to find budget-friendly components.
Antec offers a 5-year warranty, whereas a quality PSU typically comes with 7, 10, or more years.
The minimum wattage is also insufficient—search for a PSU capable of supporting the next upgrade.
Price differences between 650W, 750W, and 850W models are generally not significant.
Still, Antec has produced reliable power supplies for a long time.
