Another problem with CPU white light issues.
Hello.
I recently upgraded my CPU, but it quickly heated up to around 100 degrees Celsius, and my games began stuttering more than before. After installing a better cooler, the main problems started. Once I upgraded the cooler further, my PC wouldn’t boot, and the CPU’s white light came on. I checked some troubleshooting guides but didn’t find a solution. I searched for bent pins, re-seated the RAM, and even tried booting with one RAM stick at a time.
I realized I might need to replace both the motherboard and CPU to fix things. The current setup is:
Mobo: MSI MGP B550 Gaming Plus
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7, 5000 series
CPU Cooler: Peerless Assassin 120
GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 2060 Ventus GP OC
PSU: XFX Pro650W
RAM: Kingston Fury 8gb (two units)
I really need some advice.
Thanks!
Thank you for your message. I appreciate your patience. I'm still getting familiar with this topic. The original system used an Intel Core i7-6700k processor paired with a Krait Gaming z170a motherboard. I attempted to minimize pressure on the cooler, but after installing the new one, I applied a tiny amount of thermal paste—about the size of a pea—and it spread extensively over the CPU once the cooler was mounted. Could this indicate an issue with the coolers? Additionally, I didn't update the motherboard before swapping the CPU and motherboard, as it was purchased brand new. Regarding the BIOS update when the PC displays a completely black screen, I'm unsure how to proceed. Thank you for your understanding.
