I'm tired of Android. What can I install on an ASUS Transformer Prime TF700T? I've tried Remix OS but it isn't flashable for this model. It runs on ARM with a dock, doesn't have a standard BIOS like x64, and uses recovery plus fastboot.

No available custom ROMs were found; the suggested alternative is to use Linux.

It's quite sophisticated if there aren't simpler options available, so I'm happy to proceed.

You could possibly use Windows on that device, though app compatibility would likely be poor due to its ARM architecture. Linux seems like the stronger choice. From my experience with Raspberry Pi, the fundamentals are well-covered.

To run Windows, follow the installation instructions provided by Microsoft. As for Ubuntu, it supports running Windows as a virtual machine or via compatibility layers like Wine.

I’m not certain about the exact steps, but I saw a video showing Windows running smoothly on a Raspberry Pi—probably a regular desktop setup—not just IoT. For Ubuntu, I don’t know the supported architectures, but if an ARM version exists, it makes sense to try it.

There were many pre-built operating systems available, but most download pages showed numerous HTTP errors, or it was NGNIX.
