I was considering this today... Imagine a solid program that stays completely private, just like Skype does now—but better. Since Skype has become a lot of trouble lately, what if there was something that didn’t rely on any servers? That way, it would be much harder for anyone, including the NSA, to force the company to spy on regular users. After some digging, I found something promising, though it’s still in development and might be tricky to install. Anyone know if it’s worth trying? Is it reliable? Does it really beat Skype?

I believe I saw something similar a while back—it was one of those times when everyone was creating tools to avoid NSA monitoring, like instant messaging apps promising they’d be free from surveillance. The issue is that it doesn’t connect to any servers, which means it uses up bandwidth for people in places with strict limits, like me where data caps still apply.

It doesn't work well for casual conversations. No one will switch to it, and I don't want another app to be developed just for a small group. I'm worried about privacy concerns, especially with platforms like Skype, and I don't think it's worth the effort unless it's truly necessary for me.

Interesting, but if no one else I know uses it there is no reason for me to.
