If you just arrived at the undead settlement, I'd estimate around 10%. To discover hidden spots: Spoiler 1—Assault the wall behind the chest in the room following Oceiros' battle. 2—Adopt the dragon pose at the location where you obtain the dragon torso stone (the pose you get after Oceiros' fight).

It's usually the case with Dark Souls. You'll learn the shortcuts and build the skills you need, and then you'll likely invest around 2 to 3 hours in that section next time.

Your top choice is definitely the knight. You also enjoyed playing pyromancer for a while, though you found it less appealing since you don’t like the long-range abilities.
