I just installed the latest version and ran a benchmark test. It showed my CPU throttling at 91%, yet it was still operating well above expectations at the 82nd percentile. Overall, my results were impressive. I wasn’t noticing any lag or problems—my frame rate stayed steady at 99%. The JTC video for the 12th gen also reminded me of this situation. If anyone has more insights or suggestions, it would be great to hear. I’m treating this as a userbenchmark concern since there’s no other indication of throttling, but I’d appreciate a second look. Here’s what my system looks like: Intel Core i5-12600K, MSI PRO Z690-A, 32GB RAM, EVGA GeForce RTX 3070, Corsair Vengeance LPX, 1TB Samsung M.2 SSD, Corsair K-100, K-100 mouse, K-100 keyboard, and a Corsair Sabre RGB Pro with Windows 10 Home.

From your description, it seems unlikely. I'd steer clear of UB completely.

It seems you’re questioning whether the performance issues you mentioned are real or if there’s a misunderstanding. I’m here to clarify—your experience looks normal and performance is solid, so I don’t see any major concerns.

That’s what I initially thought too, especially considering Alder Lake’s differences between P and E cores. I just reviewed the JTC video where he swapped his 12th-gen bracket—seems like the design might have an issue. It made me reconsider and recall a similar situation with a 12900k. I thought it’d be good to dig deeper and ask for more confidence. I’m not going beyond the standard stock, XMP, MCE builds, but I don’t want to face those worries later. Hopefully this lets me enjoy the build a bit longer.

Verify performance yourself using HWInfo64, MSI Afterburner, Heaven or Superposition tests, and Cinebench R23 to assess various parts. Monitor voltages and temperatures live under different loads. For extra checks, consider CrystalDiskMark or Atto for disk evaluations.

Alder Lake CPUs with P and E cores (12600K and higher) need Windows 11 to work well because of the Thread Director feature. Since you're using Windows 10, this could be the issue. If it runs smoothly, you probably won't need to worry much.

Based on your research, the gap on 10vs11 at Alder Lake is minimal, usually favoring the player by ten or so rounds. This aligns with what I’m aiming for currently. It came to mind again after reviewing the latest JTC update.

Generally, variations fall within acceptable ranges, though certain uses gain significant advantage from 11. This could apply to UB as well. Below are some videos illustrating this point.

Alder Lake presents some interesting challenges with P cores and E cores. I expect a few minor differences across different programs during the transition from 10 to 11. The thread director seems key, but there doesn’t appear to be an urgent need for an upgrade just yet. I’ve started the build and it’s already fully set up at version 11 when I decide to proceed.
