Android版Windows吗?
For years I've been running with an idea. I've been trying to find a realistic way to run the Sims Complete collection on a phone. Mostly newer androids. I think it would be possible with the power that the Samsung can push out. But ARM is not x86 as we all know. But as Anthony showed us in one of the last videos with linux running on a phone, and that there are windows tablets out there, I know this can work. >But Tarra, why not just buy a tablet Some of us are broke right now. Plus, this is a little hobby I've been doing for many years. I'm considering building a WinPi from scratch getting all the parts from Microcenter. I got pretty far with installing windows XP on Limbo on android but it crashed for some reason. I've not been able to figure it out (I'll post when I figure it out). It was almost fully installed. So if Linus is reading the forums, or Anthony is, I would love to see yalls take on this. You don't even have to buy anything for this. Just use an existing phone you guys have around. I would suggest anything SG9^ so you can dex mode it. If you need a copy of the Sims Complete collection I can give you a copy. The game is no longer in circulation so who really cares? Anyways. I'll be around.
It's theoretically feasible, though practical challenges exist. Microsoft offers an ARM64 version of Windows, but it's only available to original equipment manufacturers, making public access extremely limited. Consequently, installing it on a device is nearly impossible, and the chances of success remain very low.
Not possible. Even MacOS versions need a native port. Many Windows titles are limited by DirectX capabilities missing in Linux. Including EA’s DRM plus CPU and OpenGL ES translations drops performance to just a tenth of what it should be.
For Windows tasks on your phone, using AnyDesk is a good idea. It lets you control your home computer remotely and transfer files easily. Setting it up is simple and performs well. Running a full Windows version directly on the phone isn’t likely.
Almost installed Windows XP on my phone last night. It was searching for the C:\ drive but I had it set to a:\ and sense then I haven’t been able to fix it properly. I’ve seen some people on YouTube try, but it still doesn’t work right now. Also, I think the issue might be related to touch screen compatibility.
I’m already using Anydesk but it doesn’t feel right for gaming. I believe it’s possible given how powerful the hardware has become over time. Running games like this is now feasible. Original Doom runs on the Game Boy and can be emulated in Dosbox on a mobile device. It’s not impossible—it just hasn’t been tested yet. We need to discover a method to make it work.
