I was attempting to rename a file on my desktop, but a warning appeared and unexpectedly altered the user folder name instead. I tried reverting the change, restarting the computer, yet the problem persisted. Deleting the file and connecting it to the user folder in the C drive seemed to resolve the issue, but Windows Explorer still references it using the old folder name. After launching it from Task Manager, I’m puzzled about what’s happening. I’ve searched online but haven’t found a clear explanation. I’m curious to understand how this works and hope someone here can help me figure it out. (I wish new laptops had the ability to downgrade to Windows 10.) Folder on the desktop (name redacted for privacy) The name Windows managed to shift to (don’t bother asking what I was doing back then).
