I’m quite surprised by this tech mishap, especially since these are rare glitches. It seems like something unusual occurred with my setup, and I’m hoping someone else has faced a similar issue and might have some ideas. I just unplugged the USB cable going to my AOC I2475PRQU monitor—this model is a 24" IPS with solid connectivity, a bulk office purchase. After reconnecting, everything seemed fine until it stopped working completely. It had a 3.0 B upstream connection split into two 2.0 and two 3.0 ports, one of which supported fast charging. Even though the port wasn’t always on, it still handled power well. I connected my speakers and drawing tablet to the 2.0 pair, but they lost power and communication entirely. The fast-charging 3.0 port stayed functional, though the other one didn’t. I tried resetting the device, changing cables, rebooting, and even using a different USB cable, but nothing resolved it. It’s strange how the phone still worked on the charging port, yet the second 3.0 port was affected. I’ve also noticed no OSD options for USB, just basic color settings. The monitor has no power management features for USB, so I couldn’t disable them. All my ports were busy, which is annoying but okay. It feels like something might have failed internally—possibly due to overheating or a faulty hot-plug circuit. The charging port’s capacity seems high (around 900mA), so it shouldn’t overload the board. I suspect either a software glitch in the hub or some hidden protection mechanism, but I’m not sure how to fix it. It’s frustrating because one port still works, yet the rest act up. What happened?
