I'm planning to upgrade my old i7 930 and this will be my first overclocking attempt. Please give me some patience.
The D14 cooler seems suitable, but I've noticed these big air coolers don't fit well with my large Corsair Vengeance RAM—they overlap at the top of the slots.
I'm considering switching to water cooling, like the Corsair H80. My case only has one top fan slot, so the H100 might not work.
Cost isn't the main concern; I mainly want to skip replacing the motherboard and CPU.
From a performance and longevity standpoint, would an H80 or another water cooler be a solid choice?
And should I purchase my own thermal paste or use the one that comes with the board? I don't want the installation to become too complicated unless it really improves speed.
