I set up Windows 8.1 x64bit and it claims the x64 version, yet my downloaded programs list shows only x32bit options. What's going on?

It's possible you saved 32-bit versions of the software. Don't stress, it's not a major issue. Just verify if 64-bit options are offered in future downloads.

It's feasible to execute 32-bit applications on a 64-bit operating system, though not the other way around.

It's simply a 64-bit or x64 architecture, not x64bit.

You'll be okay. 32-bit applications work smoothly on 64-bit systems. Consider obtaining 64-bit versions if they exist, as they tend to perform slightly better.

Many Win32 applications remain built in 32-bit, even by Microsoft. Changing them to 64-bit can be a slow journey. Generally, 32-bit programs work fine because modern Windows is mostly backward compatible.

I’m trying to say a bit more clearly. The main point is that the only change will be this small adjustment.
