I experimented with the BIOS settings of a German laptop (Trekstor C11B). I enabled the extra security feature, which added protection for my data. When I tried to boot into Windows, the system froze on a black screen. After unplugging the battery for five seconds and reconnecting it, I was prompted to enter a password. Since I wasn’t careful, I didn’t notice that changing the BIOS would erase my password. Now I’m stuck—without the correct password, I can’t start Windows. Please help me recover access.

If it requires a password, it's either the one you set when turning on the BIOS lock or the default listed in the user manual. (Note: corrected a typo)

Reach out to the manufacturer's support team with your concern; they are more likely to assist you.

It depends on the BIOS configuration. If a password is already saved, it won't prompt for a new one, though you might still be asked to verify the existing one. In practice, it often confirms you're aware of the current password before locking.

I’ve attempted but I’m in the US and the company is based in Germany; their US support line isn’t assisting me.

I’m pretty certain the password is correct, but how long does a Mobo keep a bios lock password before it gets cleared?
