Hey everyone, just a quick update from a 15-year-old in India planning a high-end gaming PC build. I’m thinking about getting either an AMD Ryzen 9 3950X or an Intel i9 9900KS and need some guidance. I saw Linus’ recent video suggesting Intel, but I’m still open to hearing other opinions. Also, it looks like I can’t find any places selling the i9 9900KS, so I’d really appreciate recommendations for a dealer or website. With the pandemic, I’m aiming to finish by mid to end of June. There are a few more questions in the attached link too—thanks for your help!

For the best performance, consider the 3950x even though it doesn’t surpass the 9900k in gaming. If you prefer the 9900k, skip it. Opt for the same CPU model but with a 10-core release within about 1 to 4 months.

I’d pick the 3950X since it also supports Ryzen 4000 and the gen-next gains for Ryzen are noticeable. Intel isn’t too bad, but that’s up to you. My main concern about the build is the GPU selection. The Titan RTX isn’t really suited for gaming—it’s mainly for AI tasks and research. The RTX 2080 Ti would cover your needs well and more. That’s just my take. I get it you’re aiming for a high-end setup, but spending a lot on little improvement isn’t worth it. The RTX 2080 Ti remains the top choice for gaming.

The Titan might actually boost your stats, not reduce them.

A bit, though not really worthwhile. Even on the most expensive gaming setups.

Consider Corsair or G Skillz based on your playstyle and what you value most in a controller.
