I recently purchased my first computer. I set up some simple games and upgraded the specs. After playing, I checked my temperatures and noticed they fluctuating while the fans stayed consistent. Even without running any games, the temps kept changing. The CPU is a Ryzen 5 3400 G and I’m not using the built-in graphics card.

The graph displays the CPU temperature curve; it appears to match a contemporary graphics card, though I typically don’t notice such high spikes in CPU temperatures.

This shouldn’t cause concern, especially since it doesn’t cause fans to oscillate excessively, which can be bothersome. Consider updating your motherboard’s BIOS to see if this reduces the fluctuations, or turn off turbo boost entirely—though I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re aiming for manual overclocking. For Ryzen CPUs, using the Ryzen Master app is usually more reliable than Speccy, which hasn’t been updated recently and often gives incorrect readings. You might also try HWMonitor for better temperature tracking.

I believe the CPU you can barely see the title in the top left is just faint. Overall, the appearance seems typical. The CPUs across my three systems vary slightly in temperature. It might look more degraded since your monitoring software's refresh rate could be too low.

Suggest using HWiNFO for temperature checks. Many other tools provide inaccurate readings for Ryzen. Regarding performance, it's completely typical. Background processes always occur, causing idle temperatures to vary.
