Appearance is good, but how much storage capacity do you need? Today’s best use for HDDs is in specialized setups, like enclosures, reserved only for backups or imaging tasks.

I own a 500gb NVMe SSD, a Seagate Barracuda 2TB HDD, and a M.2 spatium M390. Initially I used only the SSD, but with lots of games and heavy usage it became clear that adding the HDD was necessary. I understand that combining both storage types works well in practice—typically I keep the games on the HDD and the OS on the SSD.

You're asking about the specific chipsets that support StoreMI, and you want to confirm your hardware setup.

I have a MSI Spatium M390 500GB and a Seagate Barracuda 2TB drive. I’m unsure if an SSD SATA would be necessary.

What Windows version are you using? It should be 19H1 or later (a fairly old release, so I’m hoping you’re more recent), or W11. If the installer encounters problems, I’ll obtain a fresh one and retry. For reference, here’s the StoreMI manual: https://www.amd.com/system/files/documen...-guide.pdf

Windows 11 is my first install, but I’m familiar with some basics. I won’t promise it’s going to work instantly—just tried it and will give it another go. I was checking the manual and plan to follow everything carefully.

Games won’t run well and a 2TB SSD is now affordable. You can find WD/Sandisk Ultra offering similar speed to Samsung Evo SATA drives. With your budget, you might choose a non-SSD option instead.

I also own some games on an SSD, but 500GB isn't that much for what I have. The 2TB HDD was kept for storing a lot of things since I need that space, and at this point I think you misunderstood the main point about storage. Still, the SSD will arrive eventually.
