Hi, I'm trying to set up a NAS using TrueNAS with ZFS, similar to the video you shared. In the meantime, some AMD Ryzen processors and motherboards aren't available or newer models are more affordable. How can I identify an AMD Ryzen, motherboard, and RAM that support ECC? Thanks for your help!

For a Ryzen home server, the Asrock rack boards are popular choices. They include integrated graphics and optional 10GbE support (or as much as available on AM4). When it comes to RAM, you should opt for unbuffered ECC memory. Non-Ryzen processors can also function with ECC here. Additionally, TRINAS/ZFS doesn't require more than standard ECC support, so most home NAS setups can use non-ECC RAM without issues.

Most Ryzen CPUs come with ECC memory built in. Motherboards featuring B550, B450 chipsets and X470, X570, X300 chipsets typically include this feature by default. Verify the specifications on the manufacturer’s site to confirm compatibility.
