Hello, I’m not very familiar with technology, and one of my friends suggested these forums for help because they don’t understand my problem. I want to let you know my tech skills are limited, but I’ll do my best to explain the issue I’m facing. I have an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, and after checking Core Temp, it’s idling around 90 to 100 degrees Celsius. My friends told me to clean the PC and reapply thermal paste, which I did, but the temperature stays the same. Interestingly, it doesn’t change much while playing games according to Core Temp. I also used Ryzen Master to verify, and the readings matched. I tightened the fan cooler so it shouldn’t be a problem with the heatsink, and had my friends watch to confirm I applied enough paste. Have anyone else experienced this? What should I do next? Thanks in advance for your help—I’m not very clear on some things. Please let me know if you have any suggestions! Screenshots of Core Temp are attached.

Check CPU details via HWInfo instead of relying on Ryzen-specific info.

It's the stock cooler my friends refer to. That one that was included with the CPU, if I recall right.

It seems the cooling system is operating properly. This type of cooler is generally easy to set up, which reduces the chance of installation issues. While inspecting the thermal paste isn’t necessary, checking it can still provide peace of mind.

Latest software update didn't fix the issue with the temperature reading.

What cooler are you using? The fan is spinning. Also, please remove the peel.

Cooler is running low and the fan is operating. No visible residue remains on the cooler surface.

That means TJ Max reads 95C. For the real temperature, switch the sensors to HWinfo mode only. Exit the program, restart it, and then select this option.
