You have a 2x16 3200 kit and are satisfied with its performance. You’ve had success with 3200 without major issues. Your 5800X was returned in November, and you’re wondering if LPX compatibility problems might be linked to specific DRAM makers like Samsun or Hynix.
I think it's a hynix A die can't remember since I tried to use the dram calculator but it was one of them ones that didn't show in the list My bad . Here's a picture with thaiphoon burner reading one of the dimms Edited April 28, 2021 by casper89 Couldn't remember
It seems the issue has been resolved. The main concern was the powerplan, as everything else except Windows balanced caused problems like crashes and stuttering, which varied by hardware. If it works now, it should work consistently!
Today I had to process a return request for two RTX 3070 graphics cards from clients. The distributor mentioned this week they have over 30 of these units, all with the same issues. I’m not sure if it’s a factory defect or an NVIDIA driver problem, but they said they’ll accept the claims and swap them out for newer models. It seems the sudden rush to clear inventory might have affected quality control. On the broader side, most complaints I’ve seen online—especially about stuttering—come from users with 3070s cards. Still, we all know early adoption of new tech can bring risks. Maybe once AMD releases cards similar to NVIDIA ones, we’ll see a different pattern.
Improved significantly compared to the previous version, though occasional dips remain. It's now reliably functional.
