AMD Ryzen 9000 line non-x processors
Hi All, Is there any proof that there will actually be AMD Ryzen 9000 series non-x CPUs? I'm looking for actual evidence, not speculation. AMD released the 9600 non-x CPU in January. It is now May, and I'm concerned that there won't be any other non-x 9000 series chips.
My setup is compact, and cooler performance is ideal. My current unit is a 7900, which works well.
You can simply restrict the higher heat SKUs. The 7900 and 7900X are identical chips, only differing in stock power limits. If you already own a 7900, why would you think about upgrading? It's a solid CPU, and I wouldn't see a theoretical 9900 as a significant jump.
I thought about limiting power for the 9900X, but the 7900 included some extra features like integrated graphics. That made it appealing since it allowed a smaller case size. I’m aware the 9900X also has integrated graphics, but I wondered what small changes might exist in a non-x 9900 model. The main point is whether there would be any differences if a non-x CPUs appear.
The 7900x includes an integrated GPU. It isn't ideal for gaming, though it works well for everyday tasks. Non X likely has slower clock speeds and reduced power limits. These settings can be adjusted on the CPU easily.
The 7900X featured built-in graphics as well. It was essentially the same chip, only with varying power constraints.
There is no confirmation of AMD Ryzen 9000 series non-x CPUs being released.
The Ryzen 5 9600 was introduced in February 2025. Apart from reduced base and turbo speeds, its features match those of the 9600X. Otherwise, it remains just speculation.
