Consider checking the market for a Ryzen 5 1600AF and see if its price drops, or think about getting the 3300X instead.

I’d hold off for the fourth generation but I already possess everything else except the CPU. I need the complete setup finished by the end of June.

I reviewed various benchmarks and saw that 3300x performs better. For school productivity across Chrome, Python 3.8.2, Google Docs, slides, etc., there should be a noticeable improvement despite losing 2 cores and 4 threads.

So you're considering what's currently available. Chrome, Google Docs, and Slides won't care about that. I'm not sure why Python is an issue, but I really doubt it'll be that bad either. Just remember, you can run everything on a basic processor—it's just slower.

It seems like you're noticing variations based on location. The information is ready for you in different formats depending on your country.
