Check out the discussions! All B450/X470 to B550/X570 boards get a BIOS upgrade. Updates for B550/X570 are available now, while B450/X570 will have their own in early 2021.

Choosing a motherboard is tricky because it depends on your budget, preferences, and requirements. You might need a B550 unless you're okay with going beyond what's necessary for an X570.

After the BIOS update, B550 and X570 models can be used, while B450 and X470 need updates next year. BIOS flashback is being sought for these boards.

They just dropped the latest chipset called B550 (or possibly A520)—it doesn’t really matter. It could be the final AM4 model before they switch to AM5 if I remember correctly.
