AMD claims the R5 3600 has a boost clock of 4.2 GHz, but this raises questions since Intel states its boost clock is an inbuilt stable boost value. This discrepancy suggests AMD's figure represents the maximum possible overclock frequency. The difference highlights how Intel views the boost clock as a fixed upper limit, while AMD sees it as a target for further enhancement.
It works well with an overclock. It doesn’t gain much advantage from it because it comes with very limited overclocking options. Just turn on PBO and XFR and that’s about it.
It's not about pushing everything to its highest setting. Are you aiming for every core to run at 4.2 GHz? Intel actually provides the same boost for just one core, and they only show that number. My 8086k can reach 5GHz on a single core but not all six at once.
