Hey, I purchased a Ryzen 5 2600 back in December 2019 and it arrived on January 4th, 2020. It was a big step up from my Ryzen 3 1200, allowing me to handle rendering and other tasks until the CPU started acting odd. On the first day I used it, it hit around 97°C while exporting media in Premiere Pro—surprisingly, the system didn’t shut down or throttle, just kept its speed. When I tried to close Premiere Pro, it didn’t respond well and ended up finishing the export without closing. That’s when I decided to upgrade to a cooler. I installed the Deep Cool Gammaxx 400 and the same problem continued—overheating persisted, with temperatures staying between 60-90°C unless I left the PC idle for an hour. Even then, it never dropped below that range. After a short break, the temps would rise again around 60-90°C and stayed there. Monitoring tools like HWInfo, MSIAfterburner, Ryzen Master, and BIOS confirmed consistent readings. It seems this temperature issue might be related to a driver or cooling software problem, not just hardware failure. From what I’ve seen, the heatsink stays cool during idle, and the GPU stays under 65°C even at full load (around 55°C). The VRM idle current is low at 30-35c. The screenshot I took shows me playing Dota 2 at 1080p60fps, and those are the readings. Note: I’ve also added a new image to demonstrate how the temps behave after a cold start and during normal operation. Specs: CPU - Ryzen 5 2600 (not overclocked), RAM - T-FORCE Delta RGB 2666MHz 8GB x1, Board - Gigabyte A320M-DS2, GPU - RX 5700XT.
Times appear identical across Ryzen Master, MSIAfterburner and Bios. Yes, I've installed the newest chipset drivers and applied the latest BIOS update F50a. This problem only occurred with my Ryzen 5 2600 and not with my Ryzen 3 1200, though both have the same TDP. It's hard to say for sure if the issue is real or just a glitch—uncertain about what's going on with this situation.
