I just completed my first PC build and explored overclocking for my Ryzen 5 2600x. From some guides, it looks like using the stock cooler won’t cut it for stable speeds at 4.2 GHz. I went with the Corsair H100i but am still open to other options. The main question was which thermal paste to choose. Thanks a lot! Also, I have the PNY XLR8 GeForce GTX 1060 OC 3GB, which came as a gift from my cousin and wasn’t available on the PC part picker.
I have a Corsair h150i Capellix Elite that is fine albeit pricey; however, many people are recommending the highly reviewed Arctic Liquid Freezer II, which also contains a neat little VRM fan. As far as thermal paste, all of them include some preapplied. For replacement paste, there isn't a huge difference between any of them.
I prefer AIO coolers because they appear much neater and they don’t block your path, making maintenance easier. However, they aren’t the most cost-effective in terms of performance. The finish is great (pic: Mr Incredible), but you won’t notice big differences between brands. It’s better to stick with what’s already applied and keep some thermogrizzly on hand if you find it on sale.
