They don't limit any drivers. I expected the dependencies to resolve on their own. They released LTS soon after I switched off Arch. I left Arch because an update caused a version mismatch between Nvidia and XServer.

This situation frequently occurred on Ubuntu and influenced my decision to switch my parents' PC to Arch Linux, which supported an Nvidia card at the time. I preferred Ubuntu for its ease of maintenance. Over the past two years, I experienced only minor problems—like fan speed control and some GDM/Gnome quirks—that didn’t disrupt my usage. Catalyst occasionally caused instability, but I never faced a critical Xorg failure on AMD cards. After dealing with high-end graphics that failed, I stopped using NV-Cards in my setup. Previously, I used ATI cards without major issues, though updates for Xorg took time until Catalyst improved it. For me, the trade-off between performance and hassle is clear; I’d rather accept slightly lower frame rates than deal with constant compatibility checks.
